Ideal stress-free way to get to downtown Vancouver / YVR / Cruise Ship Terminal from Victoria (and vice-versa) My family and I have used these services for decades and never been disappointed. The buses are always immaculate, seldom crowded and the drivers very friendly. We often have masses of luggage, and there has never been an issue.

It's a nice bonus that the buses are first-on (no interminable waits for onboard food!) and first-off the ferries (no nasty traffic jams when disembarking). Most BC Ferries have a Self-Serve Cafeteria-style Restaurant, a terrific (and very reasonable) Buffet, a Coffee/Snack Bar, Gift Shop and Play Area/Video Arcade for kids. For $12. CDN extra, the Seawest Lounge is a great spot for getting some work done or avoiding the crowds. The fee includes Starbucks coffee, tea, juice and snacks, plus a selection of newspapers & magazines.

The best way to travel on the Vancouver Island ferry We spent a few days in Victoria before our Alaska cruise left from Vancouver. We had done a little bit of research ahead of time about taking the ferry but had planned to just take a taxi to the dock and walk on ourselves. What we didn't understand is that in the busy summer travel season, walk on passengers don't get priority over busses and cars, so we could have sat there for hours waiting for our turn, and we would have had to drag our luggage along with us. Thank goodness someone at our hotel told us about the BC Ferries Connector. A shuttle bus picked us up right in front of the hotel next door and took us to the Victoria depot, where we boarded a clean and modern bus and stashed our luggage underneath. Our bus was the first to board the ferry then we were free to get off and go enjoy the ride upstairs with the rest of the passengers. This is definitely the best way to travel across, especially if you have luggage or have trouble walking. We booked over the phone so we made sure to get the best connector and we were also able to note we needed a front seat. All of the staff were fantastic, including the driver who was friendly, funny and helpful to everyone. More
